Hi there Sophie, it's an eerie effect to be sure. What's the gray, on the left ? Can you lose it ? It might be a more effective image if you concentrate on your hand alone. Good try & I look forward to more from you !
Photoshop is an incredibly powerful tool. The best way to learn about it, I have found, is through experiments like this. I think I can tell pretty well which filters and effects you have used here; after looking at it for a while and considering the title I actually think it works quite well. For a desktop background it is probably a bit bland and dark, but that's fine; as I said the best way to learn is experiment. I really don't have any other advice than to keep at it.
As samatar said experimenting is the only way you can get better, learn by your mistakes, or other peoples advice. Photoshop is an amazing program and there is an endless amount of things you can do with it, ive been using it for a long time now and i still havn't figured everything out. So good luck to your future projects and i hope to see some soon.
Its an interesting creation. The hand looks really good in particular, and im sure you already have better skills than me in photoshop. keep up the good work.
