When doing one of my Old South exhibits in North Georgia I saw this old cotton wagon sitting on the side of and old road. I took this photo of it and got to thinking about how I wanted to present it for viewing and this is what I decided to do. Lets say someone had taken this photo many years ago ( like in the 1800's) with an old camera. This is how I think it would have came out looking back then. My idea was to present it for viewing in an aged format to try to give it an orginal look had this photo been taken in the 1800's. I hope you enjoy it!

You've done history proud with this. It really does look like it could be a photo from that era with the sepia tone shown. Very good photo- The details are amazing.

Hum...normally I wouldn't care for sepia rendered photos but this one works for me. There is a lot of clear, crisp detail and also many different tones of sepia. I had no idea they used this type wagon for cotton. This looks like a old west type freightwagon to me. I love these old wagons. The lighting in this photo really came out good. Well done my friend. I wouldn't mind seeing this photo in it's natural color either. Would you e-mail to me?

I think you did a big 10 and succeeded nicely with this effort! As I have told you before, I grew up across the street from a huge cotton mill...so seeing this brings back to me that weird and repugnant smell the cotton mill had, { don't worry----it's good memories, even if the mill was stinky :)

Fantastic presentation & love the sepia tone...it really gives an old to it & brings out the detail. I wonder how long that old wagon has been sitting there with cotton in it. Excellent work & high marks.

But, but (she says stupidly), wouldn't the wagon have looked NEW in the 1800's?

That's such a great idea!! I travel to a ghost town in Montana called Bannack, its just awesome. And I've had plans on doing a book of the many photos I've taken there, and you just helped add to that with your ideas. Thank you so much. I have photos of wagons like this taken there also, they are from the 1840's timeperiod, and Bannack was the first gold town in this area. Look it up online sometime, you will love the information. Thank you for this posting and your many wonderful photos!!

Each day I must take one more step, no matter how small or how large, but I must take the step.
