This old house sits on a cold, barren hillside with the wind howling 363 days a week. On this day there was no wind, just this old vacant dream of a long ago pioneer family who finally gave it up to the elements. I have driven by this old place countless times and never looked twice, but this time it wanted me to take a picture. I think the old house felt lonely without its long departed tenants. Time has an effect on us all. Hope you enjoy

Well, Sir...here's the way I sees it. A couple a new doors and some plastic over the winders, and it would be nice and homey to a redneck like me. Why, it won't need no paint for years, and there's lot a room for the ol' woman to plant a garden. I'd be a callin' this place paradise, if it had an outhouse. LOL. Nice shot, Paul.

I bet the view was great from that hilltop Paul. The frost really adds to the cold emptiness of the abandoned house. Good find.

Paul - Nicely done! The grey sky helps accentuate the desolate house. Thad

Good job. Might have been a nice home back when. Doesn't look like it is to old of a style, might be one of the first ranch style.

A wonderful shot Paul. A nice mood you've captured. Looks mighty sad and lonely now. Love the layer of frost covering the scene.

Wow! You captured the mood of this place beautifully. I can just imagine the wind whipping through that old house...it has such a cold empty feeling to it....brrr! Gives me shivers!

Can only imagine what this house looked like completely finished and people living in it. An amazing capture.

I love images like this, which allow one to roam through open doors and peer out windows, taking in all the aromas and imagining what had taken place in this once occupied home. What were the people like... Oh, the stories the floors and walls could reveal if only they could speak :) I love the frost on the grass and the composition! Beautifully captured, Paul! Faved.
