You like to get pretty close to the edge! YIKES! I would have to have a rope tied around my waist, and hooked to a very strong tree. Beautiful area, and a beautiful shot, Paul.
I can't find much to complain about on this beauty, Paul. The composition is about as good as you can get. The colors, details, clarity are all splendid. I especially like the textures in the stone boulder on the right.
I do see a couple of things that I've noticed in my shots, and I'm hoping you can help me with one. Firstly, my gut tells me that the horizon is leaning down on the right ever so slightly. I base this observation of my old eyes telling me that the buildings seem to be slightly right leaning. Secondly, and most importantly, I see a distinct dark line where the sky meets the distant mountains and hills. Almost all of my landscapes have this same discolored line, but in my postings the line is much more discernible. It's broader and varies in color.
Thanks for listening. Hope my comments weren't too offensive and abrasive. I can send you a box of tissues if you like.
Wow! colors are spectacular. Have you gone out to Painted Hills? Prineville Reservoir is not too far from them and they have a great campground with cabins. I'd love to see what photos you'd get there.
I don't know where you stood on this cliff to get this angle but it's a great one. Great depth to your shot also. Such a gorgeous area for the camera man.
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
I don't know, Paul, living on the edge like that could make for one doosie of a first step coming out the door. If it were me, I'd want to live over on that plateau. As inviting as the valley looks it probably floods out on a regular basis. But I suppose living up there you wouldn't have to worry much about door-to-door salesmen. But if one did make it up there you'd pretty much have to honour her dedication to the job and buy something; even if it is a set of encyclopedias with volume #3 missing because it fell into the river below during the climb. A tough choice. Heck, move over I'm going build on the next lot over. A handsome view you have of this lovely landscape. Wonderful colours and a nice depth in the shot.
What an amazing view! I hope you kept safe while taking it though! The colors are absolutely amazing...love the way that orange cliff bumps up against the greenery of the valley! Gorgeous shot! ~Kim
