Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. If the praying mantis sees its shadow, does that mean that there will be six more weeks of summer? Please? This critter was slowly crossing the pool deck late in the afternoon today.

This is extra special because of the shadow and is a great close up :)

Here we just have Spring to get thriough and then . . . . .summer. Today it seems like winter - atrocious weather - gales causing damage and now thunder and lightning.

Nice work on this and also love the shadow. Six weeks seems a tad optimistic to me - our high today is supposed to be 96F. However by Friday the high is supposed to be only 68F. Very up and down.

I love these guys,and you just don't see them that much. This is so clear, and the poise you caught is superb. I kind of doubt that the shadow tells the story about the weather, but??
