somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look will easily unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;
nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility:whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens;only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands”

A beautiful poem to go with a beautiful shot Shads. I like the rise in the road and wonder what is beyond. I see a figure that keeps drawing me down the road but there is always a figure and there is always a road. I like the colors and mood of this one.

Nice shot and poem John. I do believe I see a pot of gold there at the end.

Ah, beautiful. Just my kind of place! I like e.e. Cummings too. My daughter had a poem by him on the back of the program she printed up for her wedding a few weeks back. I love your lonely paths, John. I especially like that this one is so wide.

To me it looks like there are two people walking in the distance. Excellent shot, with great colors and lighting. Very nice, John.

Where the light is...

As a wave lark
Happy in the wind on young lawns,
Arms know you light, come in.

We’ll forget down here
of evil and heaven,
and of my blood quickly to the war,
of mindful shadow steps
by new morning blush.

Where no leaf stirs more no more light,
Dreams and sorrows passed to other sides
Where is resting the evening
Come with me I'll bring you
to gold hill.

The constant time, free of age
In his lost halo
It will be our sheet.

The two people at the very end make it John. Wet leaves on the ground are great too and I love the tunnel effect.

Beautiful words and beautiful image. I can also see two people in the far distance. You can almost imagine walking along this road and hearing the leaves rustling under foot - this years spring growth withered by time. A reminder to all of us that time does not stop for no man. Time to make the most of each day as they come. Great work John. Well done!
