This one wins my heart. You can just feel the texture of those beautifully colored petals. Angle, lighting, composition are superb. The crispness of the detail -- from the fringed petals to the grains of pollen -- adds to the excellence of the image.

This is one amazingly good photo of an extraordinary flower, and a good score to match it. I'm glad I didn't miss out. I downloaded and it's on my desktop now. What a keeper!
