Since being back in America from a 6 month absence I am astonished at how high food prices have climbed, gas is totally out of control, people are losing their homes left and right. I see the nation slip sliding back where the scales of the have'nots is far out weighing the haves. Well I have always been told the pendulum of history swings back and forth. Well, besides enjoying the beauty of my son's grapevines, I look forward to tasting their sweet juicy fruit real soon. We have apple trees, apricots, and he has a small veggie garden going. Very nice change of pace. He has created a serene little haven, considering he lives one block off a main street in a business zone, lol. My son had a dispute with the local energy monopoly today, and something about the whole situation reminded me Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath. While wandering around outside just pondering life, the sight of these grapes brought me back down to earth, appreciating everything good in life. Hope you enjoy the image.

Great shot. I think this is the first shot I have seen of grapes on Caedes. Real cool. Grapes are a good subject for photos. Great color.

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

The Grapes of Wrath is perhaps my favorite book of all time. The ending blew me away. Great photo and commentary Carol.

This is a great shot of those grapes. Sounds like he has a little oasis in the middle of a busy city. Love the green in this shot and the criss-cross of the wooden beams. Well done!

You're right Carol, you could be forgiven for thinking the end of the world is at hand right now. I do find myself wondering where the escalating fuel prices in particular are going to lead us. I read yesterday that sales have dropped 20% in the UK. I have to say I think it would be worse in Thailand - the huge shortage and rocketing price of rice must be a great risk in that part of the world. A thought-provoking post.
