Yesterday I took my granddaughter Taylor, to the Rose gardens for a photo shoot. For her 13th birthday I bought her a camera like mine. She is a budding photographer, and I wanted to give her the proper tool for exploring photography. I am encouraging her to join Caedes and share her work here. While we both got many beautiful flower shots, I kind of liked this little fellow. He was as interested in us as I was in him.

I think getting your granddaughter involved in something creative is wonderful Carol. I recently got my nine year old grandson interested and you can see his latest photo here. You might show it to her for encouragement.

Back to the squirrel. Great capture. The squirrels around here have much bushier tails. I like how it is peering at us. Good post.

Great that you're getting Taylor interested in photography Carol. I am very grateful for the day last year when I decided I was interested enough to get a decent camera and spend more time on it - it's given me such a lot. For a kid to be interested from an early age is a great gift. This guy's kind of cute isn't he - he could do with a bit more light but hey I'm not going to knock the first tentative steps of someone who could be the Mario Testino of tomorrow! Welcome to Caedes Taylor and may there be many more squirrels.

Brilliant shot here Carol! He certainly looks like you or your grand-daughter caught him unawares. Well done!

Nice capture! And it's always a good thing to have another person join the site with an eye for good photographs.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
