Beautiful catch! I know how hard it can be to catch them before they flutter away! I wonder however how this would look in full color? Or maybe with B&W to match the wings. Nice clarity in the image though!

You got the focus pretty well spot on and the subject is well framed. It is never easy to get insects and other natural thugs, they move, the wind moves them, there are lots of difficulties, so the image is very good.

I can understand why you made the background monochrome so that the butterfly stood out more, however, by going for a full desaturation it makes the image look really false. It might be better to simply desaturate and darken the background a little which would emphasis the butterfly without making the image too obvious. The background is already blurred which helps anyway.

Nice shot, but ,if I may, agree with coram9. Keep posting, and never give up.

Very nice Danielle, I especially like the way you have set the butterfly off by Two Toning the background.

Hello Danielle....For your first attempt I have to say this is a very good closeup showing plenty of detail and colour in the butterfly...I also like how you have filled the frame with your subject....Well done...All the very best to you Danielle.......Mick.
