Fine looking church and I like the busy foreground, even with a chap just walking into the frame on the left side. It all adds to the vibrancy of this shot. An old church vying for attention from the busy modern city dwellers.
And the B&W works for me too, as this blends everything together, even the info booth is lost in the crowd.
But those wires...hm... I might have tried to clone those out.
Since I moved to B.C., Canada, I know that I have developed an allergy to those wires! My wife laughs at me! So who knows... but I would say that the general preference here would certainly be wireless! :o)
Glad I'm not the only one that hates wires and poles, though now I only dislike them as they can be cloned out. And unless they're a necessary part of the subject, they should be.
It's an interesting shot, Danielle, and there;s a tremendous amount of detail in the architecture as well as everyday life.
It is a bit dark to best show that detail, and some Contrast, Sharpen and a bit of negative Gamma will make it standout. It's the large expanse of white sky that causes the slight under-exposure. And Cloning out the wires, while a bit tedious in this case, is still a worthwhile effort and produces maximum impact.
This is a very interesting photo of this glorious building. I checked out your gallery and noticed that you seem partial to black and white postings. The black and white suits this shot very well. I don't have a problem with the wires. If you eliminate the wires, you might as well erase the car traffic, the pedestrians, and everything else that makes this a bustling area in one of the world's largest cities. There is an awful lot of white sky, but unless you have access to some really good post photo software and the knowledge to use it, what you see is what you get.
