A lovely image Cindy ... perfect lighting & composition. I love the neutral colors ... reminds me that fall is not that far way. A perfect desktop for the months ahead. I love it.

It's hard to believe these little guys are falling already. The lighting on this is particularly pleasing as is the over all composition, as everyone has pointed out, but I was fascinated with the needles on which it is resting: the bright green ones, I can understand, and it looks like it has fallen on a log or a woodpile perhaps, and I even understand the straw-colored little stalks, but what' puzzling me, and making me look at this a little closer are the red and orange colored needles..They add that extra punch that makes this a very beautiful composition of everyday things and I'm just curious as to what they are.. Perhaps I shoudn't know as I like an element of mystery to the presentations I see here..very elegantly done :)PJ

Very nice shot of this little pinecone Cindy! A very familiar sight on my property as I have several pine trees. Yep, fall is coming and I'm ready for it. My favorite time of year after spring!..=)

You have an excellent eye for a photo. How many people would see a photo in a tatty old pinecone? The top left corner seems a little harsh when compared with the bottom right (imho) but over the entire photo is very pleasing indeed. Keep them coming Cindy, you are teaching me to see things I would otherwise overlook.

Hey Cindy, long time no speak. :)

Love this shot. You've captured the light beautifully as it glows warmly across the bark. There is also a genuine warmth to the picture, as if its the nesting area of some animal. Really great shot, I love it. Keep up the good work.

Very cool. ...and beautiful. Usually I find this kind of photos "empty" but in this case everything work so well. The upper parts are maybe just a little too bright. You've done great work with this :)
