the black and white is very appropriate for this somber theme. i think you did a great job in framing and presenting it.

Great composition Cindy! The B&W effect gives this capture a beautiful old-fashioned sphere and I like that!

This is going to sound funny, but I used to have an oven with a stovetop that looked exactly like this. It had been around for about 30 years, I guess, not that I had had it that long..it came with the house. Finally it gave up the ghost, and was I ever sad to see it go, for the replacement was/is not nearly as good as the old one was. Made me miss that wonderful old stove.

You have to dream, you have to have a vision, and you have to set a goal for yourself that might even scare you a little because sometimes that seems far beyond your reach. Then I think you have to develop a kind of resistance to rejection, and to the disappointments that are sure to come your way. Gregory Peck

I really like this and I can't really tell you why, other than it reminds me of times gone by. The lighting is great and the black and white is perfect for this.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Very dramatic. All of us have felt this way at some time in our lives. I lived it for 2 years in 98-99. Somber, but in its own way, beautiful.
