Built in the early 1800's, this simple mountain cabin was operated as an 'ordinary' or inn, from about 1830 until about 1850. Polly Woods , a widow, catered to the 'ordinary' needs of the weary mountain traveler-a hot meal, a comfortable bed, and a place to stable his horse. Legend has it that Polly has never ceased from her duties and that she still 'occupies' her cabin. Reports of candle-light flickering in the windows, smoke rising from the chimney, the aroma of her cooking, or the sound of her spinning wheel have been reported, though nothing has been confirmed. Tomorrow, a peek inside the cabin. :)
