This was taken at the rest area as "Wagonhound Tipi Rings". This was the view as were fixin to head into the Rocky Mountains. That strange looking fence I was told was a snow fence, and used to help hold back the snow from getting onto the roads during winter. It's hard to tell from this picture but they were pretty high. There seemed to be a haze around the mountain and there was still snow on the ground near the rest stop, which is crazy cause it was May! Comments welcome:)

Beautiful shot Jes! Great colors & sky in this. I saw a lot of that type of snow fence in the MT rockies too when I went there. They even had one passage closed in June due to a snow avalanche! Nice job on this one. C):-)

What a beautiful peak. I'm glad to hear there was snow and that it hadn't left completely yet. That's a sign of hope. This looks like another pano, but I know, it isn't, right?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

We use snow fences up here too, or we did once upon a time when we used to get a lot of snow..lol. This is a truly beautiful view of this magnificent range. Great job.

I won't be uploading images until my computer comes out of its sudden coma, as I am commenting using a shared machine that doesn't have PhotoShop or my images on it. :(
