Saw this beautiful view as I came around a switchback while hiking up the steep Merritt Lake trail. It was still early in the morning, so the sun was climbing with us.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
Think I have to blame you Christopher for making me shivering (from the cold), lol!'
Like Gabrielle and PJ already said above, is the play of light and dark really wonderful. Very nice image indeed and good work!

Wow, that's gorgeous. I love how it looks like you're looking up to the sun [maybe you are?] and how it's a darker lit picture until that sunburst just appears. Beautiful.
man, this is a great photo! opportunity knocked and you were there, fortunately with a camera. if scenes like this presented themselves every 5 minutes in this world that would be great. but they don't and you have to be ready when they do. you were! thanks for sharing.
Great work!
