"Each of these astronauts had the daring and the discipline required of their calling. Each of them knew great endeavors are inseparable from great risk, and each of them accepted those risks willingly, even joyfully, in the cause of discovery." George W. Bush 02/04/2003
If the stupid Government would give NASA a better budget, they wouldn't have to buy parts for the aging shuttles off of ebay. 14.5Billion (NASA's yearly budget) a year is less than the government usually misplaces do to faulty manegement. If Bush and his crowd would spend as much money on NASA as they do saving Africa, we would probable have warp drive by now. One thing is for sure, we wouldn't have 11 deaths on our hands.
How humbling this photo is to me....This makes me realize that I am but a small part of something much larger. May all the souls on board that day rest in peace & may their families know that they died doing what they loved....exploring the new frontier. Thank you for sharing this with us.
This background says more than words; to me things of space eg international space station ISS., tells me what we can accomplish if we work together, and what brighter future we can accomplish.*Salutes for the shuttle crew*
It is a shame that another great shuttle has been lost.
(the scary thing is that the shuttle really hasn't been updated since it was built....new computers, but no revamped tiles etc.)
Incidentally, it appears that positive lightning might have brought her down...which is kind of ironic as that is what was being documented by the science experiments.
(something NASA discounts, but they have not provided an answer to the film by an amateur cameraman or the scientists studying sprites and blue rays)
.....AND....GOD BLESS THE CREW OF THE COLUMBIA .....THIS PHOTO IS A FINE
TRIBUTE TO THOSE BRAVE EXPLORER'S..........E.F. CONWAY....SIEMENS.......
