The base of a lamp in sunlight. I specifically chose this image, cropped at the top, as it gave the effect of a shape suspended in space, almost defying gravity.

Very effective. One thing I would suggest: when filling "black" areas, try to clone the fill color from the existing image, as if you use pure black as you have here the fill will be noticeable on other peoples monitors which have different contrast settings to your own. I only noticed this when I leaned in for a closer look but I have seen examples where the fill is immediately apparent and this obviously detracts from the image.
