Nice, not as creepy as the original. Though eyes that were a shade of green might have fitted in better with the pantina of the mask. Just my 2 cents.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

Great job giving life to this statue or mask, Chris...very realistic looking and personally I feel the dark eyes well suited as opposed to the green mentioned above...I think they give more depth and expression than a lighter shade would have.

I'm impressed of your "lives" idea. Congratulations!
The brown eyes color is right!
To make the illusion better try this: take a picture of eyes on the same light angle & intensity; add a depth on eyelid (little manual hand painting needed); add a real shadow on the eyes; add a wet/tears on the bottom eyelid; keep all of anatomical eyes parts visible; add a reflections, based on nose and texture of skin... and the illusion comes to live.
Great idea & nice work. Thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful day :)

Reminds me of the old Hollywood movies where suddenly a pair of eyes appear in a painting as someone spies. I do like the effect here over the original. I like the color shade you picked for the eyes. I'm not sure why it works, but it does.

This is much better. Doesn't have the evil look. Great focus and DOF.

I was wrong with "Mask." I thought it was the bust of Attalus I. But your model is that of Iranian Goddess, Anahita. The likeness between the two is remarkable.

I think the eyes, placed in this one, shows your talent. But I believe "Mask" to be more impactful. Sometimes, no eyes, can see deep into ones' souls. By adding in eyes, I think your Anahita comes across looking more like Thomas Jefferson.

So crisp, a very evocative image, top marks a stunning image.

Wow! How compelling!! I'd also like it with the original stone eyes, however. :)
