Very eye-catching image - especially the sky. I find it quite a sad scene. The poor beast with no shelter is about to be drenched, and although there seems to be plenty of grazing for it, it's ribs are visible.
Any photo that sparks emotion of any sort is a success, so to my eye this is a double whammy - as well as enjoying the scene I get to feel sorry for the animal :(

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I agree with Lyn . While this is a beautiful image and scene the conditions for this poor animal border on neglect and abuse. I don't know where this was taken but not all areas have shelter laws to protect this type of treatment. However in my opinion one should not have to be told by any law to do the right thing. In my years of animal rescue I am amazed at how people treat animals and angered at the same time . None the less it is a good image .

There is no abuse going on here at all. The animal is on a very long tether allowing it to graze the open rice fields before they are planted. It was coming over to me to chase me away! The picture was taken at the start of the rainy season and there were a few showers around, later on the animals are taken off the fields. The temperature was almost 40C (104F) at the time and the rain when it came was most welcome relief for man and beast alike. I also got soaked, and it was wonderful.
