The Provincial States of Zeeland are domiciled at Middelburg, the Netherlands. This picture shows a part of their 'work rooms'. The whole block has the form of a ring and is called 'the Abbey' after its former (1127 - 1574) function. In WW II (May 17th, 1940) the Abbey was almost completely destroyed by bombs, but, thank Goodness, it was rebuilt. Yesterday I posted a picture of the Zeeland crest 'Luctor et Emergo'. The crest can be seen on this picture as well. It's somewhat bigger than the little cross that Bob (Dunsticking) recently has placed in one of his pictures. If you like to find it I wish you success. P.S (for Chris - Boremachine): the sky is missing clouds as it was somewhat foggy at the day I took this picture.
very beautiful view of those old buildings :o))
