This is Veere's mill, called 'De Koe' (The Cow). The mill was built on top of a dyke to catch more wind. In the past the dyke and moat functioned as part of the fortification of Veere. The soil for the dyke was simply obtained by digging the moat. When the moat is frozen in wintertime, it can be used by the people of Veere for skating. This winter, however, whas that mild that the skates could stay in the store-room.

Also this is a superb photograph of Veere. I have been a suffered years ago
in the region sealand am but not with or I also in Veere am.
Hoe, zo winter we kunnen de mutsen, wanten en zeker de schaatsen in de kast laten staat. Alks je nu al zie wat er aan insecten rond loopt en vliegt. Niet normaal. Ook dit is weer een schitterende foto van Veere. Ik ben jaren geleden in Zeeland geweest maar weer niet met of ik ook in Veere geweest ben. Wel in Middelburg en Zierikzee. Toen ik nog jong was met de Tienertour van de NS.
