This picture is taken from place 'De Dam', in Middelburg, the Netherlands. The tower at the background has a nickname and is called 'De Lange Jan' ('The Tall John') Yesterday I've climbed the steep and narrow stairs of 'De Lange Jan' to make some picures of Middelburg, seen from 'above'. From tomorrow on I will upload some of those images. Really hope you'll enjoy it, else I've done this all for nothing.

*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!* Dunstickin's Gallery

@
Groet!
John

I will give in brief an answer to John's (rozem061) question above: in the centre of this image a, in 1975 built, replica can be seen of the mediaeval Middelburg Corn Exchange. Nowadays it's no longer in use as an exchange but it is a platform for public open air music- and other art-performances.

haha Cornelius - climbing those old buildings is always hard work but always worth it! I climbed to the top of the arch de triomphe once! that was painful but worth it once I reached the top! I look forward to seeing your views!

Alain and Chris, this image was only meant to show 'De Lange Jan', to give an impression from where I've taken the coming images. Therefore I said in my narrative above that I've just climbed the steep and narrow stairs. I never had the intention to show the dull stairs.
