All the Dutch TV stations paid yesterday attention to the extreme weather (snow and frost) conditions in the Midwestern states of the USA Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. Although my country is situated far more to the north at the northern hemisphere (51-52 versus about 35 degrees northern latitude) the average climate is mild here because of the influence of the relative warm seawater. This image was captured yesterday, December 11th, and shows the tiny town of Veere enjoying the mid December sun. The tower at the background is not a churchtower but the tower of the townhall. Tomorrow I'll post a detailed image of it.

I like this beautiful tower in middle of all that great looking fall (?) landscape. And your sky is a dream. Very beautiful composition all together.

Wow....look at all the grass. It must be nice to live in a place as beautiful as this. Thanks for sharing with us, frozen friend over the pond as we are!!

"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon

Looking at this beautiful landscape view with all those nice green colors... it's hard to imagine that there is so much snowfall elsewhere!
Great shot!

Great photo Cornelius. I love these distant landscapes. Let's the mind imagine what it must be like there. Tomorrow you will show us and I can see how good my mind did. Love the foreground and also your framing. This would look good hanging above anyone's mantle. Good post.

It's amazing how one portion of a picture can really make a shot. That's what the steeple does for me in this one. Without it, it's still a nice shot, but the steeple and the other buildings make it super duper. Very nice, Cornelius.

Your climate is probably more temperate even though your latitude is the same as ours. I noted that it was quite chilly in Amsterdam in March though. The grass is so robustly green still there. This entire composition is excellent and the steeple looks wonderful in the distance.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
