A ship is female, even when the lady got a male name. Therefore two or more ships of the same type are called 'sister-ships'. On this image you see the two sister-ships 'Prinses Maxima' (right) and the 'Prins Willem Alexander' (left), named after the Dutch crown-prince and his wife, approaching each other at the Western Scheldt, Zeeland, The Netherlands. The two fast ferries maintain a service only for pedestrians and bikers. Motorized vehicles have to use the nearby (at a distance of about 10 kilometres) 6,6 kilometres long tunnel to travel to the other shore. Hope you'll enjoy this post.

Green water for the sisters to travel! Cool that Sister Willem can be himself! :-)

It 'almost' looks like they will collide. lol Interesting what you say about the ships all being female even with male names. Seems it was a most gorgeous day when you shot this image and did such a wonderful job of it too.

Stbd to stbd and not port to port? :) A nice capture at the right moment Cornelius! The next ships will be named after the daughters, I suppose.

Two sisters passing in the light of day. Beautiful. Sky is awesome and your framing has brought it out perfectly. Excellent post C.

Very good "at sea" picture. I love shots like this. The water and the sky look grand, as do the sisters.

Cat fight...Cat fight!!! With this perspective, it looks like time to break out the life jackets. Come to think of it, the sisters next door when I was growing up were often in a head-on position. Great colors and composition. Well done, again.

Looks as if a crash will come soon - another perfect example for your great skills in doing ship-shots.

Those two are awfully close! Once again, you've caught the sky and the water in such a way as to make me feel I am actually there. Wonderful!
