Famous cities like London and Amsterdam have canals. It's mostly unknown to its vistitors that Middelburg, a town in Zeeland, The Netherlands, has a lot of canals too. This picture shows a small old bridge (called the 'Spijkerbrug') across one of those canals. The bridge leads to the ancient street called 'Kinderdijk' wich has a lot of in the 17th and 18th century built (ware) houses. The bridge is somewhat 'younger' as it is is built in the 19th century (1853).

Picturesque is the right word to describe this, with that white bridge and the row of buildings. Super shot, Cornelius.

How beautiful C. I love your country and how they name everything. I do that as well. I must be Dutch.

Colors are super and the angle is perfect.

Good health to you and yours.

What a lovely scene and a very pretty little bridge. Those row houses always fascinate me with their shape and multi-levels.
Great shot, Cornelius.

A lovely looking bridge Cornelius. You can tell it's not designed to be crossed quickly by the sharpness of the apex. If you hit that at 50kph you'd take off! Canals in towns are special Birmingham has miles of canals (far more than Venice).

A good view of the old bridge and houses Cornelius. I like the angle of this shot, Excellent colour and clarity. The seagull in top of the 3rd house looks like he's enjoying the view also.
Outstanding work..

Is this bridge in fact a draw bridge? Or do my eyes deceive me? Beautiful shot Mr. C.

What a blissful life the residents of those canal-side homes must have! The brick out of which the bridge is formed is of a gorgeous color. This is one super shot.
