Edit: reading the comments, like to say that's snowing now in Zeeland, but the weatherforecast says that it will turn into rain later this day and that will be a pity (for phographers but not traffic participants, lol).

Fantastic capture with great composition! I love all that white frost and the blueish shadows.

I love the angle as well. At first look in the VB I did think it was a winding road until I read you description. The blues and brown shades are so nice together. Interesting that the trees on either side of the canal illuminate the light so differently.

I noticed the long blue shadows first thing and then of course, the wonderful frost covered tree branches against the blue sky. As someone else said, a great choice of this curve for perspective. After viewing all your wonderful winter scenes, I am wondering if they are all from one day and does it still look like this in Holland now?

My 2009 winter scenes are taken on different days in January 2009 (from January 3rd until January 10th) and at different spots in Zeeland. In the 'edit' of my narrative I've said that the weatherforecast has predicted changing weather (from snow into rain). It has become true, so Zeeland is grey and cloudy now.

Beautiful and you must have been out before the skaters. Or are those the long shadows of evening? Great shot whichever it is. What a tranquil scene C. Once again your series continues to amaze.
