When my friend Pat (Icedancer aka Skates) posted this image some days ago, I commented on it that I had taken a rather similar image in one of the woods near the village where I live. Said too that the fungus that I had captured was even a tad bigger but had a more brown color as well, so I suppose it's an older one.
Had some doubts to post this image as Pat provided us already with an excellent version, but decided to do so as there's a possibility that I've made you slightly curious, lol.

Cornelius, normally, I just like my mushrooms on pizza. But, you and Pat both have reasons posted to cause me to look for other uses. I really liked the colors on this mushroom. Like Mich, my knowledge of mushrooms is very limited too.

A good shot and that is a whopper of a mushroom of some sort. I have heard not to eat anything mushrooms that are attached to wood. Textures are really good Sea.
