Before I read the title I thought it was an air raid siren. I'm sure sailors are glad to see this light on stormy nights. Nice angle looking upward toward the beacon and those big puffy clouds. Smooth sailing Mr C!
I'm not very 'sea' savvy, but I think this is either a light or a weather station or both. Nice colors against that gorgeous sky. Clarity is tops as always.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Very dramatic and gorgeous picture Cornelius!! Love that sky but what the heck is this beacon thing anyway? I mean, know what a beacon is and I know the difference between a beacon and bacon but what it THIS particular beacon??:):)????
Like to give the Caedes-friends, who have no idea what I have depicted, the advice to check-out THIS LINK. It's just a navigation aid for maritime purposes.
An unusual capture of this colourful beacon, which stands out nicely against the cloudy sky. I had an idea this was a maritime beacon, but not seen one up this close before. I like it when caedes members capture objects or places we may never get to see or know about. We all learn someting each day on here which is nice. Ann
Looks a stiff neck jobby on this one pal...well captured as your usual fine photography!...
