I met this 'friend' yesterday in the woods at the northern part of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, the Netherlands. After some hesitation, he finally accepted my apple, so I suppose he was hungry.

Oh wow! Beautiful portrait, Cornelius. Seems you made a friend. If I go out in the woods with a basket of apples, do you suppose the deer would all come gather around me or would they see me as the wicked stepmother from Snow White? lol So wonderfully close and such a great pose.

Stunning detail in this portrait, Cornelius. I have deer all over the place here, but they don't let me get this close. I'm torn between looking at those lovely features while wanting to see all of the antlers. Six of one, half a dozen of another. Excellent DoF with that blurred background makes me think that this guy is going to grab the granny smith apple I'm eating.

Wonderful close-up with very sharp focus in this portrait of a stag Cornelius. He seems quite relaxed too. I had female deer coming close to me but never a stag. You had mesmerised him with the apple.

WOW i cant believe that a deer would be so calm as to accept an apple from you hand! That would never happen in this country but it has enabled you to get a perfect shot of this majestic beast with the beautiful antlers. I am in awe of your work Cornelius!

Deer sure do love apples. I have several deer that eat the apples from my small apple trees in the early fall. Love the detail on this deer & it looks like it is eating a salad (grass) to go with that apple. Beautiful close-up Cornelius ... very well done.
