The islands and peninsulas of the province of Zeeland, the Netherlands are surrounded by sea or artificial lakes (former sea). One of them is the Lake of Veere, a 22 kilometres long artificial lagoon, situtated between the peninsula's of North- and South-Beveland and Walcheren. Great angle for this shot..The deatil in the foreground is a cracker, as is the rest of this lovely view leading out into the lake

A wondrfully constructed composition with your great eye, Cornelius. I see the Autumn color on the opposite shore too. Very lovely and calm. You must live close to the Lake of Veere.

Such a pleasant picture! The detail of the grass, sand and water is perfect while the color is very soft and lovely. I'm muttering to myself, "I wish I was there," on account of the nonstop rainstorms happening where I am! lol -Wonderful capture!

This is a lovely spot you found, and I like the way the jetty leads the eye out to the water and beyond. The grasses and sand in the foreground really make this image. Well done!

I agree with the superlatives noted above, Cornelius, with one exception. That sky is immense and adds nothing but negative space to the shot. I probably would have cropped out 80% of it. Of course, that's a personal preference and would have made the shot a lousy shape for a desktop. Those big bushes in the foreground make for a great natural border; so I can't easily say what I would do to keep the length to width ratio. Probably would have dropped down on one knee and have added more foreground. Just a thought. The rest of the shot is technically unblemished.
