Lovely, well composed image. Surprised to see that low flat grey sky as your images usually have beautiful clear blue vistas! I really like the use of the boardwalk to add perspective and think you have done a good job of getting the balace right as so often my images turn out very flat on such cloudy days :)

Answer on Ted's question above: these boats are former fishing boats. They are made of natural wood indeed, mostly European oak. Because some of these boats are already more than 150 years old, some needed any reconstruction. Reconstruction was done in a similar way when they were built (as far as possible of course).

Once again your eye for composition and clarity proves itself. It also tells a story, giving me a window into a different kind of life. It takes skill to make such an interesting image on a grey day! mary
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.
Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
So many of your images invite the viewer right into their depths Cornelius and this is no exception. The long length of the jetty adds great depth and the clarity of the boat is superb. Fine work
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
I like everything about this image. The walkway leading the eye into the distance, flanked by the boat on one side and the water and building on the other. Fav'd and thank you for sharing! A very satisfying image indeed. Ann
