They have been called back to the barn, but these are wild ponies, yes? Can't be they are making room for the birds or else they don't like birds in their drinking water. A most interesting question and shot. They are such pretty horses.
A very good image Mr. C. maybe they are discussing the the low water level? Or they have had their fill, and heading for parts unknown to us. Tigs♥ =^..^=
They came down to drink water but were disappointed to see the stream almost dry and are turning back? Great shot Cornelius with the colourful horses and the birds.
Nothing and everything, Cornelius. But, the bottom line, they enjoy. And that's the most important in life. Lovely shot, very rich, so many subjects there.
There's a lot going on like the family duck, so cute with the little ones, family horses who are having some fun because the rain stopped falling! So all by all a good looking picture!
I think the story is that the waters were higher before these horses came to it, but after that lot had a long drink, this was all the water that was left - those poor geese had to walk rather than swim across the mud!! ha ha Alot to see in this shot - well done! Ann
Hello Cornelius...This is a lovely colourful picture of the beautiful horses at the the edge of the water...It looks as though they have had a drink and they are heading off to do some grazing....Well done....All the very best to you Cornelius....Mick.
"You've had your drink, move on now, time to get some high ground where you can eat and I can see if anything is coming. OK, OK...chase the geese on the way out if you want to." I've seen that beautiful grey stallion before. One of my favorite desktops shows him pushing 3 mares in front of him; one looks to be giving birth very soon. He's protective and insistent and the mares have their ears laid back! :) He definitely runs the roost...and will keep them all safe. Great pic and I envy you your access to this herd.
