This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By. Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
Near miss I would say ... Ouch, scary image, considering that some people might have landed in water. :) Seriously, this is great action shot, dear C or SEAS [just take a look and see, if you like your new name :)]. SAM & SAAB
Although the rules are complex and to a certain extent rather difficult to explain, in this situation it's quite easy: the sailboat has to give way to the pilot boat because boats who are used for leisure sailing have always to give way to boats who are used for professional reasons like this pilot vessel. The pilot vessel is sailing on a water way (marked by green and red buoys, but not visible on this image). The sail boat is crossing this waterway. In such cases a crossing boat has to give way as well, but in this case it's, because of the first rule, not relevant.

The water looks choppy. Good shot.
