Despite a gray sky, the sight on land was clear. As you can see by this image, the shipping on the North Sea and the Western Scheldt River however was hampered by fog banks.

A talented capture of the misty fog, Cornelius. I had a small boat I used for fishing when I lived in Sardinia. Occasionally, the fog would roll in and I'd race to shore in attempt to beat it. I was caught once and it wasn't fun as I had no electronics to assist in navigation.
Groet ! John
Wow, I would have loved to see this amazing fog / mist bank in person. Very moody & you captured it perfectly, Cornelius. I like the subtle lighting too.
We don't ever have any coastal fog, SEA. But then we don't have a coast either. We do have fog occasionally at the Post Office. We call it Postal Fog. I think I have lost my bearings. :) Well captured.
Magnificent shot, really like that sky and the way the sun is streaming down onto the water, also the depth the show line really adds to the scene. In full view I see a big cargo ship on the horizon plus a smaller one way out
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
you captured this very well!...lots of 'Mood' to this...but a beauty scene
