The sound of the waves is still music for me, with calm passages to relax, but sometimes with deafening violence to increase the tension.

Image was captured on one of the beaches of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands

The pilings almost look like they would serve as parts of a finely tuned instrument, creating beautiful music as the wind and waves came upon them. Maybe in the darkness of the night, that is what happens. You have captured this scene as perfectly as anyone ever could, Mr. C. The sky puts it way over the top. Sensational photography!

My first thought was similar to Jimbob's; with the pilings being the keyboard of the sea. Those viewers familiar with coastlines and/or being at sea, will totally understand your explanation for the sound of waves. This is beautiful, Cornelius; as are your words. Bravo my friend!

The pilings look like soldiers standing at attention as the waves play their National Anthem.
Once again you please and amaze us with your view of the world.

The pillings do resmble an instrument of the sea. Excellent shot and wonderful narrative - you captured this image so beautifully - outstanding work, Mr. C!!!

There is simplicity in this capture, but the details are also there...the reflections of the pilings, the dramatic clouds, the ship in the distance...the water is really choppy and green from the turbulence. A wonderful image!

At first glance it looked like little tiny soldiers marching out to the sea. The pilings give this already wonderful image some real impact. I like the color of that sand and it has some footprints left in it. It is a beautiful day but it looks like it could change in a moment by the looks of that sky. Another great shoreline image Cornelius.

I was once with my wife on holiday and we had accommodation right on the seashore. There the soothing sound of the waves was very nice but not during windforce 10 at sea :) Lovely image with the pilings lined up like soldiers protecting land (in this case erosion). That sky looks super too Cornelius.

They look like the pipe whistles of the sea Mr. C. - a wonderful angle for this shot.

Cornelius - The repetitive sound of shoreline waves can put me in a restful sleep on the beach. This image of the beach groin, with beautiful sky above, captures that peacefulness perfectly. Thad

A beautiful image and heartfelt thought Mr. C. I agree with You - I would rather hear the waves slapping the shore and tickling the boat than any music in the world.
