I've witnessed and captured this 'invasion' of hang gliders on the west coast of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

A continuous west wind was forced to rise because of the sand dunes there, giving the 'adventurers' the opportunity to 'position keeping' for a relative long time.

It does look as though paratroopers are coming in to land - in broad daylight with colourful chutes :) Beautiful capture of the beach ans invaders. I can well imagine that the upwind gives them all a lift.

I too immediately thought of a wartime beach invasion. The human birds gliding over the landscape makes for a lovely photo, Cornelius.

That is totally amazing! I have never seen anything like that before. That must have been quite an experience to witness in person. I trust they all landed safely. Not only is it a treat to see the hang-gliders, but the area they are gliding over is so beautiful. The people on the beach must have been thrilled, too. Top notch photography, Mr. C. A keeper for sure.

I've never seen so many so close - how do they keep from running into each other. This makes a great photo Mr. C - lots of color and action.

When you view it full, full screen SEA, they all appear to be sitting down as they glide in your beautiful country.
I have to join the chorus that said it reminds them of WWII.
The lighting and shadows on the beach and in the dunes is so very attractive. Much to see and enjoy.
I was wondering when this was taken.

At first, ie viewing the thumbnail pic, I thought: SEAS is acting rather strangely with this manipulation similar to another agent SOR [rvdb]. Viewing full size comforted me as to consistency in the works of SOS top agent :)
