This B&W image - taken near the Lake of Veere, Zeeland, The Netherlands - shows some eel fishing nets when drying in the wind. Eel is in some European countries, like Belgium and my country, a delicacy (mostly consumed in a smoked form). For the eel fisherman it's a lucrative business.

It's my weekly entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge.

Interesting shot of these nets Cornelius. Eel is also "beliebt" in Deutschland. I had some Spanish crew members on board and they asked me whether the Germans eat snake meat!! Very good entry for the b/w challenge.

A unique image Cornelius. It looks especially dramatic in B/w
The nets look a bit like the crayfish nets we have here.
I have tasted eel only once. That was enough :)

It is on my list ready to post on the BWC tomorrow.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Wow those are some nets Mr. C. - One of my favorite sushi rolls has eel in it so I'm familiar with that fish. I like the B&W approach - the nets structure really shows that way.

The hanging nets make for a very artistic presentation, Cornelius. When I lived in Sardinia, the locals would skewer live eel and roast them over hot coals.
