The Zeeland farmers have held on September 3rd, 2016 the yearly ploughing competition.
The event took place on the peninsula South-Beveland, The Netherlands.
One could see ploughing with two or three draft horses together ('Folklore Ploughing), and ploughing with old ('Folklore Ploughing' too), and new tractors. In this series I'll show you, from time to time, the above mentioned disciplines. This is the 2nd one of this series.

I can imagine that the middle one is the strongest and scolds the other two when they don't pull hard enough. Another interesting scene from the competition with great clarity Cornelius.

Great capture of strong-looking horses working in the field. They look like they are doing a good job!

It looks like they stay true to the old equipment with the yokes and the plow too. We get to see it in great detail and true color , fine photo.

An expensive plow that goes both ways to save time. It is good to see the "old" ways from farming around the world.

Deze foto roept herinneringen op aan mijn jeugdjaren,toen deze taferelen nog vaak voorkwamen op Nederlandse en Belgische velden.Toen de boerenstiel nog hard werken was;een strijd om het bestaan.Nu moet het allemaal sneller en grootschaliger.Moderne tijden,nietwaar;Wim Sonneveld wist het al.Heerlijke foto met bonkige werkpaarden.Wat zijn dat toch prachtige en intelligente dieren.De reclame werkt hier inderdaad storend,zoals John hierboven al vermeldde.Maar ja,het is een competitie en ook de sponsor moet ook zijn zegje krijgen.
Bedankt Cornelius,ik hoop dat je nog lang op stap mag gaan met je fototoestel om ons te laten genieten van foto's als deze.
