The little medieval town of Veere, in Zeeland, The Netherlands, is surrounded by ramparts and moats, meant as fortification in the medieval time. When one's outside these ramparts one can hardly see Veere. No problem because the ramparts are covered with hawthorn shrubs that are blooming in the month of May. To me a pleasant sight and worth to be captured.

It's a striking image, well composed and framed. The Path, the unusual and shapely spire, and the surrounding foliage of trees and marsh make it a very appealing photo. A place that would be great to explore!

Beautifully composed Cornelius and the lush greens are wonderful. Those Hawthorn leaves are asking to be nibbled on - they taste of bread and cheese !
