Went for walk after a mid-day thunderstorm and saw this in the swamp right next to the road. I thought it looked to be searching for more rain. I had some help and found out that this is a Calla palustris(Bog Arum, Marsh Calla)
I like the idea you were going for here, but believe you may have made a better impact by focusing tightly on the flower and the green leaves to the left of it. A bit of the surrounding water would have still been visible. The flower has such an interesting pattern and the rain sliding down the leaf draws the eye. Great clarity and color!
The beauty of this flower and your question prompted me to do some googling. As a result, I'm guessing this is an alexandrian laurel. Perhaps someone will know for sure.
