At least that is what this is supposed to look like. I have been playing with a lot of old photos and put this one of me through a Topaz add-on called Black and White Effects. Some of you are already familiar with this photo from FB.

Your daughters look like you COG. It looks like it has been desaturated somewhat. I like the effect. Cool ear rings. At my age I have to be gentle.

If practice makes perfect and nobody is perfect, then why practice?
An excellent portrait shot - an image searching for truth rather than an attempt at framing an empty compliment. A touch of that Mona Lisa ambiguity, the beginning of a smile but maybe it's not that but rather a pale masking of pain or a question rising to your eye, lots of space to see many things and in that space is the invitation to take you more seriously as a person than a simply pretty shot could possibly achieve. Good luck in the context, this is a weighty entry.

A great entry from a great lady. I thought the daughter photo was the entry, but this is excellent. This is a serious contender so I am deleting anything I was considering and starting over :) First rate stuff.

Beautiful. :-) I'm not a Facebook user either, so haven't seen it before. I love the effect as it is, but subtle use of the curve and vibrancy tools in Photoshop bring slightly darker values out of the background; it also brings a little extra brightness to the eyes and extra life to the colours. Really pops! :-)
