I took into account all the observations and advice made by all of you on a previous post and accommodated them to try and improve it.

Several found the background distracting and said the fruit looked a little fake.

It was suggested that maybe a green tablecloth would be more natural looking.

The blueberries atop the bananas had to go.

The fruit needed to have blurring or feathering.

The perspective was off.

I had to agree with most of the advice and my own concerns were the background and the perspective.

So, I will try to remember some of the things I did. First, I replaced the kitchen background with a textured wallpaper by selection and layering.

I selected the tablecloth and decided it was too complicated to change without losing the shadows, so I just changed the color to more of a green and muted it so it wasn't too bright.

I cloned out the blueberries on the bananas and a few on the table.

I had to relayer the image with an older version and erase to pull back some of the shadows and berries that got lost in the table color change.

I did an 'edge'softening' with a Topaz plug-in.

I couldn't alter the perspective with lens correction or the Lens Effect Topaz plug-in, so I altered the perspective as best I could with the warp tool in PSCS5 and then had to content-fill the blank spaces to return to a full frame.

I added a light vignette and the rest is just 'fluff'.

Phew! I may have skipped a half dozen steps because I can't remember, but they were necessary and this is about as good as it gets. I am done. Would I do this again? No, probably not. It doesn't seem worth all the fuss, but I do love to play around in the software, so I did have fun doing it.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions.

Wow! That wore me out Cindy:) Don't ever do that again okay?:) I must say all your effort did not go to waste. This is very nicely done. I am not fond of the purple BG above the banana but that's just me and has nothing to do with your gift or the outcome:):) Nice job.

For me just this peachy thing, please. Otherwise I do not eat fruit. They only look nice to me, but the taste is like grass ...
I prefer this one. Kitchen reminds me that fruit are a healthy food ["yikes" or how was it that SAS=Sandi reacts to the water snakes].LOL

Well that was quite a run through of steps - I needed a sip of water as I read! This turned out much better IMHO.

Your photoshop class has paid good dividends in all your posts COG. I still find the background distracting and the fruit looks like it will tumble off any moment.
It would have changed the perspective but I would have used the table cloth as all the background.
Lots of work that was done very well. You did a great job of removing the blueberries.

Much, much better presentation, Cindy. You missed one tiny thing, undoubtedly because of everything else you were doing.
As the table is no longer obviously a table, the darker edge lines protruding from the bananas is a significant distraction.
A few seconds of cloning in some soft green, extending it upward just a bit, and it merges perfectly with the background.

You'll never learn, my friend. You still listen to the others? LOL Honestly, I prefer the other one, it's stronger, more powerful. This one is fluffy, as you say yourself. But the fruits look delicious.

It is greatly improved, but there are two big things that causes it to look artificial. First, the angle of the lighting on the fruit are not all the same. You can particularly see it between the banana, which is to the right and the orange which is more over the viewer's right shoulder. Understanding where the light is coming from, the shadows scream "fake" because they are not all in the same direction, same amount, or same angle to match the lighting. Notice on the orange that the shadow comes toward the viewer, but the light is by the viewer; the shadow should be behind the orange not in front.

Cindy - I think your extra efforts have paid off with this healthy breakfast work. (I'm not seeing what Jeff (Pistos) is describing. Different shapes reflect light differently, as well as the shadows cast.) Thad
