its pretty tricky getting the exposure AND timing right on fireworks, the brightnesses of fireworks differ hugely, and pictures dont look good with too many, or partial fireworks, so heres #2 out 40 that actually turned out

I love the photo, great job. Fireworks can be difficult. I've been working for a few years to get some really good fireworks shots. I've also noticed that towards the end of the show the smoke really starts to become a problem. You also captured great color detail. It looks like a digital shot, if not I have to wonder what film and exposure you used? Good job!

This is by far one of the better firework photographs I have seen on the site. Great capture.

I am giving it a 9 out of 10 because I tried to take pictures of firework last month and only 25 of the fotos came out half as good as this. Good patience to get this wonderful shot.

The first thing I thought when seeing your photo was, "Wow, Fireworks are soo hard to get, and those are perfect!" It's a beautiful shot, amazing work!
It's like those fireworks were performing just for you. :-)

Wow, great work...i know exactly what you mean. there's the timing, the 2 seconds u have to 'compose' the shot...the exposure (or overexposure in most cases hehe) and then smoke..every new year's eve is an experiment in capturing a handful of good pics after wasting a few rolls of film! I finally got around to scanning my photos from NYE 2004..will post them soon. check out my gallery, there are a couple from NYE 2003 as well: Night Fire & Splendour was one of the interesting ones.

Wow that's amazing - I've never been able to get good photos of fireworks yet!! Doesn't help that we hardly ever have fireworks in my part of the world... but oh well!! Good work you!
