What a beautiful and unusual photo! I wonder how something that appears so fragile and delicate can survive elements like this? This really is a great shot! Beautiful!
Please forgive me: I want to thank everyone who views and comments my images, I try but it is hard to write individual thank you at times. Please know you are appreciated!
Which lens did you use? I would guess the 80-200 because it doesn't look like the kind of bird that would stick around if you were close. I think i would have liked to see it without the whole in the snow in the back, or with the backgroud more blurred out maybe. I find my eye gets drawn away towards that thing a bit. Other than that this is really good. I think it would have been a tricky one to expose properly with so much white. I think i would have either got something under exposed making everything gray, or i would have got washed out so there was no detail in the snow. Nice work.
Both of these photos are outstanding though I like this one more and I think it's the lack of color, folds in the mounds and bit of ice dripping in the hole in the snow. I love the birds trail as he sort of waddles through, rump deep in it. The snows surface looks so delicate and fluffy that it wouldn't bear any more weight than a small bird. Beautiful photos
Congratulations! Your persistence in capturing this lovely paid off! This photo is beautiful to me! I can imagine that it was very quiet at this gentle moment in time.
Hello Carl...gosh it seems like a long time since I've seen a photo of yours. And THIS one is absolutely delightful and beautiful. That lone little bird sitting on the curves of snow. It is going right onto my desktop for a week...I just love this photo. IT would be a most wonderful picture to frame in a very simple style and hang on a lovely spot in your home..or in MINE>.hehe...thank you so much my friend...verena
Enchanting view of a snow bird. I like the extreme amount of white in this image. That is some soft fluffy snow and cute how the bird is trudging through. Hope he does'nt fall in that hole! Good marks for this...
