I was walking in Arlington Cemetary looking for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. At first I walked right passed this sign, but then I stopped and turned around. For some reason the flower on the sign really touched me.

These are the valiant dead.

They were men of iron and of fire. They were men of tears and a gentle touch for the ones they loved.

They died for us. For our history, for our future, for our children, our husbands, our wives, our sons and daughters.

Lest we forget their bravery, let these memorials rest in the view of all who cherish our livelihood, our freedom, and our sacred honor.

Lest we forget, and believe that freedom can be bought with ought but blood and tears and sacrifice. The freedom of our bodies, and of our souls.

Lest we forget, let these lives --offered up so that we may hold ours dear, engraved upon stone tablets-- be a testament to the price that was paid.

Lest we forget.

Remember these, the known and the unknown, the old and the young, the men and the women, the bond and the free. Them, our history and our ancestors. We, their children and their legacy. Remember these, lest we be unworthy of such sacrifice.

May God cause us always to remember.

It is a truly touching image. But Caiden says all, so i will only add, May God bless them.
As far as the shot, B&W is an excellent choice, and the one pink flower adds to the feel.
Thanks for sharing!
