Oh oh ... hang in there, Stephanie ... adjustments to the time frames are being considered.
Still have some time left to go for the "Night Time" contest currently running. 'Some' being the operative word (23 hours or so).
Check the contest page once the "Night Time" contest concludes, typically a new poll is then conducted for the next theme and once that poll concludes and a subject is chosen by popular vote ... the new contest commences.

Nice colour, perhaps a bit more contrast and/or sharpening? To provide an assist in delineating the bloom's central portion more so?
/\ Just a thought.
... ...
Had another thought ... handheld shot?
Being blunt here ('tis the nature of the commenting beast sans coffee :oP) ... a little soft on the focus.
That nonsense of mine aside, the element of colour is strong, natural and most appealing. Add to that, you singled out a lovely specimen. :o)
Hi Stephanie, I find this close up fine, but...
Capturing a blossom try to set the focus on the stamen, it´s
the 'heart' of the flower. And move the blossom a bit out
of the centre.
Kind regards!
Mac
