Horizontal lines convey a feeling of repose (an act of resting or the state of being at rest) and a sense of finality. Shades of blue as a choice of palette add to the calming influence. Not quite like the moniker it was given. Movement or speed is usually abstractly defined with diagonals, or a starburst-like pattern to indicate explosive freedom from restraint. However, this remains a good study in using emotional motif. I also enjoy how you used alternate fading and blending of color as an illusion to make the lines appear unparallel, when in fact they are uniform in width. Nice image!
