This is a Tarantula, no idea what sort but know it is from America somewhere. I thought this shot is interesting and decided to share due to the colour. The spider was under an inferred heat lamp giving the purple colour. I took this from an insect exhibit at the Melbourne Zoo, Victoria, Australia

Such an awesome photo and I'm so glad you said it was in Australia....it can stay right there. If they are in America just don't tell me....I don't want to hear it. Aside from that it is a good capture.
