Another angle on ye auld carbide factory. Today this amazing site is literally in the middle of the forest with a river running through it, and not another sign of civilization for some distance. Ninety-nine years ago, it would have been a fresh and shiny (for its day...) industrial plant. I have no doubt that Nature will take this planet all back as soon as we let it go ....

This is another great shot of this area Dave. The highlights are a bit blown out on the right side. I wonder if you might be able to tone it down a bit in Photoshop without losing detail in the shadows on the other side? I use that shadows/highlights feature sometimes successfully but have to be really careful because the default setting is way off the charts. I love the "feel" of this scene. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous images. anne :-)

Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

This is a beautiful scene Dave with wonderful composition and lighting. The changing colors from green to golds and the subtle sounds of the water are really nice. It's a great post and so glad you shared it.

Fascinating tale associated with this. It is a lovely place in the woods. Signs of industrialization retaken by nature. I love that!

It's so sad yet fascinating to see how nature will take over ruins like this. This is another fine capture and angle you've shot this at.In a few years, the bridge is probably the only thing that will be visible here. Thanks for sharing this Dave and giving us the history behind this. Very interesting.
